China Economic & Industry Study Tour
June 2025
In summer 2025, we organized a large-scale academic immersion program in China for 52 MBA participants from the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA). The group represented a wide range of industries across Russia, including finance, manufacturing, technology, and public administration.
The academic component of the program was hosted by the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing. Participants attended a series of expert lectures exploring China’s economic development and global role, including topics such as:
The Belt and Road Initiative and international finance in the post-pandemic world
The impact of the China–U.S. trade tensions on global supply chains
Contemporary global macroeconomics and the dynamics of China–Russia trade
Beyond the classroom, the program included industry visits that offered firsthand insight into China’s industrial ecosystem. Participants visited Beidian Kelin, a leading company specializing in broadcasting and surveillance systems, as well as major industrial facilities including the Sinopec Ethylene Complex and Bohua Development, an integrated chemical manufacturing enterprise.
A highlight of the program was the China–Russia B2B Forum held in Tianjin TEDA, which brought together more than 100 participants from Chinese and Russian companies. The forum created a dynamic platform for dialogue, networking, and potential collaboration, demonstrating strong mutual interest between businesses from both countries.
The program also incorporated cultural experiences to deepen participants’ understanding of China’s history and heritage. Visits included the Forbidden City in Beijing and the Porcelain House in Tianjin, offering participants a broader perspective on Chinese civilization alongside their business and academic learning.
This program exemplifies the Miles & Minds approach: combining academic insight, industry engagement, and cultural discovery to create meaningful international learning experiences.
